Welcome to Aaliyah’s World!

What’s this all about? 

My name is Jocelyn and, as you might know, I’m Aaliyah’s mom.

This is a blog (from my POV) dedicated to Aaliyah, our favorite 9 month old whom I like to call my “angel baby.” If it’s not obvious why, the reason is because she looks like a sweet little cherub- minus the wings! I got the idea to start this up because Aaliyah has a big family and a lot of friends, (I love that so many people love her), and you all love to know how she’s doing and what she’s up to. I thought that blogging might be a fun way for me to keep everyone up to date on bits of her life and milestones. Plus, it could be something for her to look back on and read when she’s older!

Some sentimental thoughts to start us off with:

Aaliyah changed my life in a way I could never have imagined. I mean, what would life be like without her adorable smile?? A little smile that shows almost 5 whole teeth and is extremely contagious. All I know is that we are all so glad she’s here!

I love thinking back to the day she was born (almost a year ago now), when the doctor placed a crying, swollen, 7 pound Aaliyah in my arms. Without hesitating, and with only my voice and touch, I was able to quickly soothe her. I will never forget how that made my heart feel.  I felt so proud to be her mom. 

To be honest, nothing could have prepared me for that moment, the moment I became a mom. But the minute I held her close, I was locked in. 

 I embrace this new role as her “mama” wholeheartedly. I look forward with so much excitement, optimism, and happiness for what is to come! 

Before I get too emotional- follow along, it’ll be fun to watch her grow together!
