Everyday life with Aaliyah looks like:
...
Last week I got sick and at the same time Aaliyah suffered a lot due to her teething! She had a fever for a couple of days, we were both in urgent care, but we got a lot of rest because I took some sick days. This week, she is mostly back to her usual self. She has moments where she is visibly uncomfortable and just wants to be held/comforted, but no fevers or low energy. She is a trooper!
Also, the countdown to ONE started on 03/01. At this point I am just so excited! Aaliyah looks the part of a one year old...we're only a few days away from it being official. I sometimes look in my rearview mirror and laugh in shock at how big she looks in her car seat. She looks in her little mirror and points at herself, the other day it was raining and she was watching the raindrops move on the window, and when we were at a stop light she looked in awe at the trucks at the dealership on the corner. Soon she'll be singing along to the music playing and talking our ears off. I can't wait to hear her voice more clearly, and hear what silly things she has to say because I just know she is going to be hilarious.
Lookout for pictures next week of birthday fun! She is going to have a great weekend and even though she might not remember everything we do to celebrate her when she grows up, her family is all going to be able to remember her first year and all of the excitement and emotion behind this milestone.
I will remember the details of 03/10/24; the moment she was placed in my arms and the moment she latched on to me to feed for the first time. Amazing.
Love,
Jocelyn
